Illegal Mopeds Crushed As NYPD Hits 100000 Vehicle Milestone In Crackdown

New York City – The NYPD marked a dramatic milestone as they crushed illegal mopeds in a public demonstration, sending a clear message to offenders. Dubbed a “demolition derby,” the event underscored the department’s aggressive crackdown on unregistered and illegal vehicles.

Thanks to sustained efforts by the NYPD, 100,000 illegal mopeds and ghost cars have been removed from the streets since the beginning of the Adams administration. The enforcement action is aimed at improving safety and reducing chaos caused by these dangerous vehicles.

NYPD officers and city officials, including NYPDPC and the NYC Mayor, celebrated the milestone. As the mopeds were destroyed, the message was clear—illegal vehicles have no place on city roads.
