Savannah, Georgia – Video recorded by Mark Saxby on Sep 7th shows a violent storm striking the city.

The footage was taken from the sixth floor of the Marriott Savannah Riverfront hotel, where heavy rain and fierce winds battered the area.

In the video, a boat can be seen on the river as a tree bends and sways violently under the storm’s force.

Mark Saxby said: “I was on the 6th floor of the Marriott Savannah Riverfront.”

This scene is connected to the impact of Hurricane Milton, which made landfall near Siesta Key, Florida, as a Category 3 storm on October 9, 2024. The hurricane caused significant damage across the region, including Savannah.

In preparation, the City of Savannah distributed sand and sandbags to residents and urged them to secure debris and review emergency plans ahead of the storm’s arrival.
