Karaganda, Kazakhstan – Police in Karaganda saved a man attempting to jump from a ninth-floor balcony, Polisia.kz reports. The incident occurred on June 5 on Tattimbet Street.
Witnesses spotted the 39-year-old man hanging from a rope outside the balcony and immediately alerted rescue services. Police and emergency responders rushed to the scene, acting swiftly.
Adlet Amirbekov, deputy head of the criminal police division at Karaganda’s South-East Police Department, engaged the man in conversation to dissuade him. “While rescuers worked to open the door, I spoke to him from the balcony. Time was short. My colleagues monitored safety below. We managed to pull him inside,” Amirbekov said.
The rescue operation lasted only minutes, but every second was critical. The officers’ professionalism and bravery prevented a tragic outcome.
The man is now under medical supervision. Doctors and psychologists are assessing his motives and providing support.
