Chieti, Italy – Four young hikers who lost their way on the Majella mountain were rescued by Vigili del Fuoco.

The group had become disoriented and found themselves in serious difficulty near the Gole di San Martino.

Specialized helicopter rescuers were dispatched to the scene.

Using a winch system, the team airlifted the hikers one by one to safety.

They were brought aboard the Drago 158 rescue helicopter.

The dramatic intervention took place last night.
