Fanlo, Spain – Four French hikers, aged between 40 and 60, were rescued on Wednesday after being trapped by a hailstorm near Pico Descargador at an altitude of over 2,300 meters.
The group had been descending toward the Góriz refuge when a severe hailstorm forced them to stop. They were unable to continue their route due to the dangerous weather conditions.
At 4:30 p.m., an emergency call was made through 112, alerting authorities to the situation.
The Mountain Rescue and Intervention Group (Greim) from Boltaña responded to the call, supported by a helicopter from the Huesca Air Unit and a 061 emergency doctor.
The team located the hikers and evacuated them by helicopter to the Torla helipad.
Fortunately, none of the hikers were injured.
After the rescue, they requested a taxi service to continue their journey.
