Paradiña, León, Spain – Dramatic aerial footage captures a vast forest fire in Paradiña, with heavy smoke and fierce flames spreading across the landscape.
The fire’s destructive reach is clearly visible from the aircraft, revealing the scale of the devastation.
In a related event, another fire has broken out in Las Médulas, also in León, threatening residential zones and a UNESCO World Heritage site.
Meanwhile, in Requeixo, Ourense, a separate blaze that began on August 9, 2025, has already consumed more than 300 hectares.
Efforts to contain these fires are hampered by extreme heat and difficult terrain.
Galicia, where these incidents are unfolding, holds the grim record of being Spain’s most affected region by forest fires, with nearly 49% of intentionally burned hectares between 1983 and 2017. Many of these were linked to deforestation, brush clearing, and deliberate arson.
