Jiguang Expressway, China – A terrifying accident unfolded at the 1151-kilometer mark on Jiguang Expressway when a truck tire broke loose and launched across the median into oncoming traffic.

Liu was driving a heavy-duty truck when the right front axle tire suddenly detached while in motion. The runaway tire struck the central highway barrier, bounced into the air, and crossed into the opposite lane.

There, it collided with a small passenger car driven by Li.

The impact severely damaged the car.

Traffic police launched an investigation and concluded that Liu was fully responsible for the accident. The truck was found to have mechanical issues and lacked proper safety equipment.

Authorities stated that vehicles with such hazards must not be on the road.

Drivers are reminded to perform thorough safety checks before operating their vehicles. Driving with faulty equipment is both illegal and dangerous.
