Florida – Did you know that Florida panthers don’t roar, they caterwaul? A recent video captured this unique high-pitched yowl, a sound panthers use to call for a mate. Turn up the volume to hear it for yourself.
The recording came during a youth turkey hunt in March. Joel Donaldson and his hunting partners spotted the elusive Florida panther and managed to catch it on camera. Sightings like this are rare, as these animals tend to stay out of sight.
Encounters with Florida panthers are uncommon, but it’s good to be prepared. Experts say the simplest step is to give the panther plenty of space. Most will avoid people and confrontation if given a clear path to escape.
