Florida Man Flees Twice During Same Traffic Stop Then Apologizes As Deputies Tackle Him

Dover, Florida – A Plant City man fled from deputies twice during a single traffic stop before finally being captured and apologizing.

Andrew Bhagwandeen, 34, was pulled over Wednesday for not having a license plate. As patrol cars moved in to box him in, he suddenly sped off.

Dashcam video showed his car slipping past a deputy and crashing on Renfroe Avenue. Bodycam footage then captured deputies surrounding him and taking him into custody.

While being cuffed, Bhagwandeen repeatedly said, “I’m sorry.” He asked, “What did I do wrong?” A deputy responded, “You committed aggravated battery on law enforcement.”

As another deputy removed a necklace from his neck, Bhagwandeen suddenly ran again. He was tackled within seconds.

Three deputies held him down as another cuffed his ankles. Still, Bhagwandeen said, “I wasn’t trying to run, bro.” A deputy ordered him into the car. Bhagwandeen replied, “I apologize, man.”

“Nobody cares about your apology,” a deputy said before slamming the door.

After the arrest, deputies discovered a passenger in Bhagwandeen’s car. The passenger said he had asked to get out, but Bhagwandeen refused and continued to flee.

Bhagwandeen now faces six misdemeanors and nine felonies, including kidnapping, aggravated battery on law enforcement, drug possession, and criminal mischief.

A bond hearing is scheduled for June 2, 2025.
