Strong winds drove the fire’s rapid spread, forcing the evacuation of more than 2,000 people. Emergency crews worked to protect residents and property amid the chaotic conditions.

This blaze is part of a severe wildfire season across Spain. Recent fires near Madrid and northern Spain have compounded the crisis, with nearly 4,800 fires recorded so far this summer. The total burned land area has already surpassed the ten-year average.

The Tarifa fire follows closely after another major blaze in the same area, highlighting the persistent threat during peak wildfire season.
