A dolphin trapped in the shallow lagoon near Lignano was rescued in a coordinated effort by two firefighter teams from the Lignano detachment.

Using a boat, the firefighters reached the stranded dolphin and placed it carefully onto a floating stretcher.

With veterinarians on hand, medical checks were carried out to ensure the animal’s condition was stable.

The team then transported the dolphin on the stretcher back to open sea using a boat.

Once released, the dolphin swam away freely.

The operation was conducted in close collaboration with veterinarians and staff from WWF Area Marina Protetta di Miramare, the Department of Comparative Biomedicine and Food Science at the University of Padua, the DelTA Association, the Shoreline Research Cooperative of Padriciano, and the Morigenos Association from Slovenia.
