Firefighters Continue Rescue Efforts After Severe Flooding in Piedmont

Turin, Italy – On Friday, April 18, 2025, 700 firefighters remained at work in Piedmont to address the damage caused by heavy rains since the night of April 16.

More than 1,000 interventions have been completed, especially in the provinces of Turin, Biella, Vercelli, and Verbano Cusio Ossola.

The situation is currently improving. Rescue operations continued late into the evening to bring people to safety from flooded homes.

In the first video, firefighters from the Vercelli command, equipped for flood operations, rescued four people in Crescentino, in the Galli area. They had been isolated with their dogs and cats due to the flooding of the Dora Baltea River.

Teams are still working on drainage operations, the removal of fallen or dangerous trees, and securing areas affected by landslides.

In the second video, firefighters saved a person clinging to their car, which had been swept away by the flooding of the Po River in the town of Brusasco.
