Southern Pines, North Carolina – Children in Southern Pines found a fun way to cool off as the town opened a fire hydrant during a hot summer day.

The move turned a street into a splash zone, offering relief from the rising temperatures.

The Town of Southern Pines thanked the community for coming together.

“We loved seeing our community come together for some cool summer fun,” the town said.
