Izmir, Turkey – Intense winds reaching speeds up to 60 km/h are severely hampering efforts to control the ongoing wildfire in Izmir.

The Orman Genel Müdürlüğü reported that firefighters known as Ormanın Kahramanları are bravely battling flames that leap forward with the help of gusting winds.

They emphasized their relentless commitment, stating, “We are fighting not only the flames but also the wind.”

Every gust that fans the fire adds to the challenge faced by those protecting the Yeşil Vatan—the Green Homeland.

Despite the fierce conditions, firefighters remain steadfast, working day and night with determination to protect the land.
