Vaughan, Canada – On Sunday, August 31, 2025, at approximately 2:20 a.m., York Regional Police responded to a home invasion near Major Mackenzie Drive and Highway 27.

Investigators say three male suspects, dressed in dark clothing and wearing face coverings, attempted to force entry by smashing the glass of the front door. At least one suspect was armed with a handgun. Two adults and two children were inside the home at the time.

Screaming can be heard from inside the house in video footage of the incident. The suspects fled in a dark-coloured sport utility vehicle after the home security alarm was triggered.

No injuries occurred, and nothing was stolen.

York Regional Police Hold-Up Unit is asking anyone with information to come forward to help identify the suspects.
