Umbertide, Italy – A drone filmed the first moments of a fire that broke out in a plastics factory in the industrial area of Pian d’Assino on Sunday, April 20, 2025.

The fire, which started in the afternoon, prompted an emergency response from several firefighter teams. Crews from Terni and the Marche were sent to support operations in the Perugia area.

Eight teams of firefighters worked through the night to bring the flames under control. Foam was used to limit the fire’s spread and protect nearby buildings.

By 09:00 the next morning, the fire was under control and extinguishing operations were in their final phase.

Excavators and mechanical shovels are being prepared to clear and remediate the affected site.
