San Bernardino County Fire Protection District crews responded to the remote area following the report of an off-road accident. The rider had suffered a moderate lower leg injury.
Due to the difficult terrain and inaccessibility, a helicopter with hoisting capability was dispatched to perform the rescue.
The San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department Air Rescue unit carried out the operation. The helicopter included two paramedics from the fire department to assist with medical care during the evacuation.
Additional resources sent to the scene included two fire engines, an ambulance, a battalion chief, a patrol unit, a public information officer, and an all-terrain response vehicle.
