Orlando, Florida – On April 21st, X user Dylan posted a video of a Delta plane catching on fire at Orlando International Airport, showing passengers evacuating down emergency slides.
They said: A Delta flight just caught on fire at the Orlando Airport.
According to officials, Delta Flight 1213 was pushing back from the gate when an engine caught fire around 11:15 a.m. local time. The plane was bound for Atlanta.
The Federal Aviation Authority confirmed the fire and said passengers evacuated safely. There were no initial reports of injuries.
The plane, an Airbus 330, carried 282 passengers, 10 flight attendants, and two pilots. Flames were seen in the tailpipe of one of the engines, prompting a swift evacuation.
The fire was contained and is now out, according to an airport spokesperson. Fire crews responded immediately.
Passengers returned to the terminal, and Delta is providing another aircraft to complete their travel.
Delta apologized for the incident, emphasizing that safety is their top priority.
The FAA will investigate, and Delta maintenance teams will examine the aircraft.
