Sandy Springs, Georgia – A Sandy Springs police officer searching a wooded area for suspects on September 27 was jolted when a deer suddenly bolted toward him in the dark before crashing into nearby bushes.

Bodycam footage released by the Sandy Springs Police Department shows the officer sweeping his flashlight through the trees while looking for two suspects when the animal bursts through the woods.

“Holy sugar, dude!” the officer shouts as the deer darts past and disappears into the brush.

Police said officers had been called to the area after reports of two men trying car door handles in the neighborhood.
