Community Alert Leads To Safe Recovery Of Missing Child In Lee County

Lee County, FL – On September 24, deputies responded to a report of a missing child in Lee County.

Elijah had been playing in his front yard when his mother suddenly realized he was gone.

Deputies immediately launched a search, calling in the Aviation Unit and K-9 teams. At the same time, the Communications Division issued an Everbridge alert to notify residents of Elijah’s last known location.

Shortly after the alert, a nearby resident spotted Elijah near their home and quickly contacted the sheriff’s office. The resident offered food and water while waiting for deputies to safely reunite Elijah with his family.

The Lee County Sheriff’s Office expressed gratitude to community members who assist deputies and help keep the county safe.
