Eastern Pacific Ocean – A Coast Guard VBAT unmanned aircraft system played a critical role in tracking a suspected smuggling vessel, leading to a successful interdiction by the crew of the Coast Guard Cutter Midgett.

The VBAT provided real-time intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance, allowing the Coast Guard to detect and monitor the vessel’s movements before it could reach U.S. waters.

By enhancing situational awareness and operational reach, the VBAT contributed directly to stopping illicit maritime activity and supporting the Coast Guard’s mission to protect national security.
