Plana Cays, Bahamas – A dramatic rescue unfolded as a Coast Guard aircrew saved a family from a partially submerged vessel near Plana Cays.

On June 30, 2025, an 8-year-old child and two adults were pulled to safety by a Coast Guard Air Station Clearwater crew.

The family’s sailing vessel had become partially submerged, putting all three in danger.

A good Samaritan spotted the emergency and alerted the Coast Guard Seventh District watchstanders.

Thanks to the swift response, the family was successfully rescued before the situation worsened.
