Cat Rescued From Littleton Fire Receives Emergency Oxygen

Littleton, Colorado – A video posted on X by South Metro Fire Rescue on September 15, 2025, shows medics administering oxygen to a cat rescued from a house fire using a pet oxygen mask.

The incident occurred at 6889 S. Allison Way, initially reported as a single-family structure fire but later confirmed as a garage fire. All residents were safely evacuated, and four cats were inside the home, with one receiving immediate treatment.

The rescue highlights SMFR’s ongoing role in emergency response and fire investigations, and reflects a growing trend of pet rescues during fire operations.

The department is managing these challenges amid budget pressures from rising costs and increased service demands. A property tax increase was approved in August 2025 to support SMFR’s operations.
