Vaughan, Canada – York Regional Police investigators are appealing for witnesses after a vehicle in Vaughan was deliberately set on fire and shot at on Wednesday, September 17, 2025, shortly before 7 a.m.
A nearby resident’s home security cameras captured someone setting the car alight near Forest Heights Boulevard and Highway 27. The blaze was quickly put out and no injuries were reported.
Surveillance shows a grey 2022 Honda Civic with Ontario licence plate DFEA247 arriving in the area before the incident. Footage depicts a lone suspect exiting that vehicle carrying a bag with a jerry can, approaching the victim’s car, then returning to his vehicle and firing several rounds toward it before driving away.
Investigators describe the lone suspect as a male about 5’10” tall, last seen wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, black jogging pants, black running shoes with white soles and grey gloves. The suspect vehicle is listed as a light blue 2022 Honda Civic with Ontario licence DFEA247.
Police say the same vehicle was linked to a shooting in Peel Region later that evening and was reported stolen in the City of Toronto on September 17, 2025. Authorities continue to seek information from anyone who witnessed the crimes or has relevant footage.
