Bryce Fire Burns 3000 Acres in Graham County As Firefighters Tackle Intense Conditions

Tucson, Arizona – The Bryce Fire in Graham County has scorched nearly 3,000 acres since it began on Wednesday.

The Tucson Fire Department’s wildland crew is currently on assignment, providing assistance with the firefighting efforts.

On Saturday, the crew worked on structure prep and participated in nighttime firing operations. High winds have posed a challenge for the firefighters, and conditions are expected to remain difficult on Monday.

The first part of a video shared by the department shows a backfire, deliberately set ahead of the main fire to slow its advance.

The embers visible on the right side of the video highlight just how quickly fire can spread under these conditions.
