Miami, Florida – Due to the 344Fire, US-1 is temporarily being shut down in both directions. Low visibility from smoky conditions due spot fires has prompted the closure. Helicopters continue to drop water to mitigate the fire.
MDFR, along with FLForestService, continue working to contain the brush fire in southeast Miami-Dade. The fire spans approximately 24,000 acres. So far, 30% of the fire is contained.
Our crews are working tirelessly to protect the community and extinguish the fire. The situation remains active as efforts intensify.
