Brooklyn, New York – A video filmed by X user TԹɧȝՐ shows a massive fire tearing through the Red Hook neighborhood.

The footage reveals thick black smoke filling the sky as the blaze spread.

The flames destroyed a warehouse more than 150 years old that housed a local artist co-op and several small businesses.

More than 250 firefighters responded to the five-alarm fire.

This disaster occurred during a wave of severe weather-related incidents around the world in late September 2025.

Flooding in Ibiza and Mexico followed extreme rainfall and hurricane remnants, underscoring a pattern of dangerous weather events.

The timing of the Brooklyn fire aligned with the flooding in Ibiza, which was triggered by Hurricane Gabrielle’s remnants. The storm forced the closure of the airport and left health centres inundated.
