Black Diamond Pool Erupts Again In Yellowstone As Webcam Captures Fiery Blast

Yellowstone National Park, Wyoming – On May 31, 2025, Black Diamond Pool erupted again in the Biscuit Basin area of the Upper Geyser Basin.

The event was recorded at 8:39 p.m. MDT by a monitoring webcam.

The pool had previously experienced a powerful hydrothermal explosion on July 23, 2024.

Since then, several smaller eruptions have occurred, but few were seen due to area closures.

The webcam, installed on May 14, 2025, was placed to monitor the site and study post-explosion activity.
