El Paso, Texas – U.S. Soldiers from Alpha Company, 1st Battalion, 12th Infantry Regiment, are actively patrolling the Texas National Defense Area near the southern border.

The operation took place on May 16, 2025, as part of a broader mission to monitor activity and deter unlawful entry into the United States.

These patrols are carried out under the guidance of the 2nd Stryker Brigade Combat Team, 4th Infantry Division.

Directed by U.S. Northern Command, Joint Task Force–Southern Border coordinates efforts to secure the southern barrier.

Their mission includes rapid, all-domain operations aimed at preventing illegal actions and strengthening national defense.
