Finland – A U.S. Air Force KC-135 Stratotanker from the 100th Air Refueling Wing, based at RAF Mildenhall in England, conducted high-stakes aerial refueling operations over Finland.

The tanker supported F-35A Lightning IIs from the 48th Fighter Wing at RAF Lakenheath, also in England. Alongside them, Finnish Air Force F/A-18 Hornets took part in the complex airborne maneuvers.

The mission occurred during exercise Atlantic Trident 25 on June 16, 2025.

Atlantic Trident 25 is a multinational training exercise involving the U.S., U.K., and France. It focuses on interoperability and operational integration among Allied forces.

This year, Finland hosted the event for the first time, highlighting its growing role in Euro-Atlantic defense efforts.
