Lobuche, Everest Region, Nepal – Video filmed by X user Rugged Trails Nepal on October 29, 2025, captures the aftermath of an Altitude Air helicopter crash in the snowbound village of Lobuche. The solo pilot escaped unharmed, and no passengers were aboard.
The footage shows knee-to-waist-deep powder covering the rocky ridges around a remote teahouse. The helicopter fuselage lies half-buried downslope, its blue tail crumpled and rotor blades bent and splayed, with debris scattered and dusted in white snow.
Locals and trekkers in dark gear navigate the deep drifts, pulling supply sleds and snowboarding toward the wreck. Groups of 10–15 people gather around the tail, with one person climbing atop it, while others form a human chain to probe the snow. Some huddle under umbrellas to shield themselves from wind-whipped flakes.
The distant Himalayan peaks are obscured in a whiteout, emphasizing the harsh conditions. A post on the incident simply stated: “all safe” in the challenging environment of the high mountains.
