St. Augustine, Florida – A backyard pool in St. Augustine became the scene of an unusual police call when deputies discovered an alligator enjoying a swim.
The St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office said their TeamSJSO responded to remove the reptile from the residential pool. The gator appeared unhappy about its cut-short pool time—and even more upset about the ride in a patrol car.
Deputy Richardson managed to safely capture the alligator and secure it in the back seat with a seatbelt. It was then relocated to a nearby pond without further incident.
