Alaska Air National Guard Conducts Search And Rescue Over Kipnuk After Typhoon Halong

Kipnuk, Alaska – Alaska Air National Guard rescue personnel from the 176th Wing carried out search and rescue operations over Kipnuk following the devastation caused by Typhoon Halong on October 12, 2025.

The operations are part of ongoing recovery efforts in the region, with multiple agencies coordinating on the ground and in the air.

The Alaska Division of Homeland Security and Emergency Management is working closely with the Alaska Organized Militia and the U.S. Coast Guard to support affected communities and ensure timely assistance reaches those in need.

Rescue personnel continue to survey the area, assessing damage and locating individuals requiring aid amid challenging conditions in the aftermath of the typhoon.
