Airmen Race To Trap And Test Mosquitoes For Deadly Diseases At Kansas Air Base

McConnell Air Force Base, Kansas – On June 4, 2025, Airmen from the 22nd Medical Group Public Health office set up mosquito traps across the base.

The traps were part of a mission to monitor mosquito activity and check for dangerous diseases.

After collecting the insects, the entomology crew sorted them into male and female groups.

Each group was then tested for the presence of viruses and other health threats.

The operation is a key step in protecting personnel on base from mosquito-borne illnesses.
